Achievements

In 2007 Connor Bamford, Steven Jackson and Harris Wain won the Royal Society of Chemistry Schools’ Analyst Competition held in Stranmillis College. Teams of sixth-form chemistry students from schools right across the province were assessed on their accuracy, precision and team work during the chemical analysis.

In 2008 Chin Mun Soong was placed 3rd in CCEA GCSE Chemistry.

In 2010 Tristan Holdsworth in Year 14 won the Irish Senior Chemistry Olympiad heats that were held at Queen’s University Belfast.Tristan and Chin Mun are both studying Medicine at Queen’s University Belfast.

In 2011 Utkarsh Joshi, David Bailie and David Broder-Rodgers won the Royal Society of Chemistry Schools’ Analyst Competition held in Stranmillis College. Friends’ School went on to represent Northern Ireland at the University of Reading at the UK final.

In 2012 Joshua Alexander was placed 2nd in CCEA GCSE Chemistry.

In 2014 Joshua Alexander was placed 2nd in CCEA Alevel Chemistry.

In 2015 Molly Harte was placed 3rd in CCEA A level Chemistry
