Ulster Schools’ Swimming Cup
In the recent Ulster Schools’ Cup and Championship Swimming Gala, numerous swimmers from all three age groups represented the school in fine form, with personal bests across the board.
Following these personal accomplishments, Friends’ School swimmers went on to achieve outstandingly in the medals table.
In the team events, the intermediate 4x200m medley and freestyle team of Paul Cox, Johnny Smyth, Jack Fleming and Jamie Allison dominated the racing, finishing first in both events.
In the Intermediate age group Jack Fleming achieved third in the invitational 400m freestyle and second in the 200m individual medley, securing his place in the Ulster Interprovincial team while Jamie Allison finished third in the 200m individual medley and second in the 100m breastroke, securing his third consecutive Interprovincial team selection.
In the senior age group, Chris Loan came third in the 100m backcrawl and third in the 100m butterfly.
The collective success of the team led to the winning of the Ulster Schools’ Cup for most points over the course of the entire gala, a great achievement to round of an exciting weekend
