Irish Schools Swimming Relay Finals

A squad of 13 swimmers from Year 8-13 in Friends’ School Lisburn recently travelled to the National Aquatic Centre in Dublin to represent FSL in the Irish Senior Schools Relays.

In the junior boys team (Luca McAtarsney, Bryn Fitzpatrick, Daniel Crowe & Noah Poots) finished in 6th and 7th place for the Medley and Freestyle relay respectively against teams with mostly Year 10 swimmers. In the intermediate girls team of Sasha Quinn, Lydia Mees, Jodie Marshall, Katie Martin and Andrea Cox finished 1st place in both the medley and freestyle relays.
Not to be outdone, the senior Boys team of Johnny Smyth, Jack Flemming, Jamie Allison and Paul Cox aimed to maintain their winning ways and as seniors they were once again winners in both the medley and freestyle relays! Well done to all the swimmers as lots of hard work and training were put in to achieve this excellent result. Jack Fleming and Jamie Allison also represented Ulster in the Schools Interprovincial Swimming Competition on the same day.
