Jordan Buchanan from the Economic Policy Centre Speaks to Sixth Form Economics and Business Studies

On Thursday 17th March Jordan Buchanan, who works for the Economic Policy Centre based at the University of Ulster, spoke to Sixth Form pupils. The centre is an independent research centre focused on producing evidence based research to inform policy development and implementation. The Centre’s work is relevant to government, business and the wider general public with the aim of engaging those who may previously have been disengaged from economic debate.

Further Success for this year’s Young Enterprise

This year’s Young Enterprise company Generation won two awards at a recent awards ceremony. In order to compete the pupils completed a ten page business report and took part in an interview.

Year 13 Business Studies Trip - Chain Reaction Cycles

On the 14th and 16th March 2016, Year 13 Business Studies pupils visited Chain Reaction Cycles in Doagh. Chain Reaction Cycles is the world's largest online bike store which has grown from a small family owned local bike shop, to a multi-channel online retailer distributing to over 120 countries daily with over 5 million units sold per year.

Success for Friends’ School Young Enterprise Company Generation at South Eastern Area Trade Fair

A team of ten budding entrepreneurs from Friends’ School have recently started up their own business- Generation- having produced a family activity book- ‘My Family and I.’ The company is run through Young Enterprise- a leading UK charity which empowers young people to harness their personal and business skills.
